LaMarche Shines as Greens' VP Candidate

Lost amid the ugly accusations and obnoxious political commercials, one candidate for national office conducted a campaign with dignity.
Pat LaMarche known to local people as Augusta radio personality Genny Judge will not be the next vice president of the United States, but she and those who know her can take pride in LaMarche's thoughtful campaign as the vice presidential nominee of the Green Party.
The Green Party ticket of David Cobb and LaMarche received more than 100,000 votes nationally. On average, 2,000 people in every state thought enough of Cobb and LaMarche or badly enough about every other candidate to vote for them. That was not enough to get elected, but it is certainly something to tell your grandkids.
LaMarche traveled around the country, talking in depth about the country's real problems not sound bites. She discussed homelessness, education, the environment and small business. She campaigned in an old-fashioned way: person to person.
It was a good campaign.
